I'm Zenow, I'm 25 and I haven't enjoyed a game in over a year.
Am I ill?
Am I in love?
Am I.... growing up?
Or are the games just sooo bad these days, it's no wonder I'm not having fun?
The last game I enjoyed was Morrowind, but even that suffered from a bit of my 'who cares,' I'm just pushing against variables here - syndrome.
I used to be real addicted to games, but now, I find myself reading books more and more. Sometimes I do feel like I want to play a game.. but there's nothing out there.
I liked Driver.. but I'm not gonna reinstall win98 to play it and realise it is dated after all.
I liked GTA.. but only for two weeks
I liked Unreal 2 for about as long as it took me say 'ok, nice graphics'
I hated the latest Tomb Raider..
let's face it, I'm just not in the mood for shooters anymore. I want more involvement in a game.. but there isn't any. Should I just sell this thing?

Battlefield 1942 is a great game and with all the mods for it and online play, it damn near has a unlimited replay value. Then there is Worms 3D, although that is not out yet. Call of Duty is just awesome. Try the demo. And there is always a plethora of FPS and RTS out

OK, Zenow, I think you are old enough to enjoy city building games.
Try Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader
Try Caesar III, Pharaoh, Zeus and Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom.
Those might suit you, being a mature gamer, I mean

I spend a lot of time lately on Championship Manager 01/02 and Heroes 3 and 4.
Addictive games.

I understand you perfectly!
Although I am not 25, but younger(20 to be precise) I feel the same.
I think it's not about how old you are, it's about how many years you played games before.
If you played many years, you become veteran gamer and as veteran gamer you see games differently.
So, it's understandable.
Max Payne 2 and Half-Life 2 might suit you.

Yea i know what ya mean. I have played games since i was born from the commador 64 up. Games are lacking or maybe we are lacking the new generation feed. The last game i remember playing and getting excited about was the hl2 leak. BUT i have found a way to cure the gaming turn off. I go to lan parties and a well known one Quakecon. These events will create a spark in your relationship with games and make u have that intimate love for them. I haven't been this year so I have been turned off recently but I know if I go again I will fall in love all over again. :francesco:

I've been playing games since I was about... 3, and I always come back to them, eventually. I mean, every so often, I go through a period of time where games dont' seem important, and I have other parts of life to tend to, but they pass, and I always come back. I'm 16 now, and the trend shows no sign of slowing down
