Being an old hardcore gamer, my patience has run really low waiting on games. Last year was a really bad year for me since I usually do FPS and a few sims. Now it seems that some of the games I was hoping for around this winter season has fell to mid 2004. Waiting 3 or 4 years on a game then finding out its just another clone with no flavor is getting old. Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me ?

Well Have 2 agree with ya but now that it's 2004
  There will come some realy nice FPS-games(no i am not naming some of ehm cause the Xperts know wich one I mean) Although I would like 2 see my good friend Duke again in a nice FPS game but that will last at least 5 yrs from now i am affraid ;)

In all honestly COD kinda did me in. I have serious concerns that those "highly anticipated" games that will come out this year won't be any longer than COD, and waiting this long for a 6 or 7 hour game is just plain ridiculous.
I certainly won't rush out to buy a game when it's released anymore, I will await the response from people I know and trust - like my fellow forumites

I dont mind waiting 3-4 years for a game, aslong as there are atleast 3 BIG games out a year Minimum, and aslong as they dont hype the shit out of them, which is a mistake made my sooo many publishers and dev's these days
