Just willing to check out if a "BURN TO CD" option would appeal our userbase or if no one actually cares, pricing would be about $7-10 / cd (let me know if you have other companies offering better proposals) for a multi-selection of files.

How exactly does a "burn to CD" option work?
(I know it burns to a CD so spare me the jokes....)

Instead of downloading a large program, GH would burn a selection of files to CD and mail it to you for a small fee

Would obviously appeal more to the dial-up crowd than anyone. Any idea the number of regular visitors who have broadband? Maybe some just cant get broadband but have the bucks to spend...Good luck, but honestly Id rather donate a couple of bucks a month...

OIC, thanks Bucky, personaly it wouldn't apeal to me but as stated above it may apeal to the dial-up crowd, however they are declining rather quikley so I'd imagine it would not be worth the effort to you guys on the GH staff.

Sounds like a kewl idea, but would u also ship to Europe or Asia, against a normal price? Think it will be expensive for ppl further away than the US.

I went back to 3dgamers to get their price for cds and they stopped offering them. It was always an option to get files on cd. Apparently they had no great success. I suppose people without broadband are willing to be patient rather than pay for files...

yes, the point is if even people with slower lines will actually use it, of course it is targetted at them.
Personally I would prefer a DVD service (anyone knows any?), as with 30 demos over the cd, it would start being appealing to everyone...
I think pricing for Asia/Europe will be the same (not even sure where the company I'm talking with resides), as actually north america is probably the continent needing this service less.
