If X-Box Live posted downloadable demos would you need a modded console at all, or would you just need alot of disc space? There's already downloadable content. Is that the same?

if that was to be a feature, you wouldn't need a modded console... xbox live doesn't even work if your console is modded :P you already have an 8gig hd, so space wouldn't be a problem. but i wouldnt ever expect a feature like this... if ms were planning on doing this, they'd have probably implemented it by now.
as for demos off the web... a modded xbox would be needed, as your regular xbox won't play games or media copied on to a dvd / cd. even if your xbox is modded, however, you might have problems... because older xbox models are extremely picky about what media they will accept.
verging on the edge of legality here... you can aquire some demos off bittorrent or other p2p networks, i'm not sure if these are legal though. i know a while back i saw a demo of Ninja Gaiden floating around in torrent. however, these definitely do need the use of a modchip to work.
