far cry and 9600 pro

my 9700 pro has some minor video lag on the SP demo bonus map. Hopefully it's just because the game hasn't been fully optimized yet.

i haven't tried any 9600 pros, but i know for a fact that the 9600xt can run it well. the sp demo can be pretty graphically intensive at times, so you can't expect perfectly fluid framerates at all times, but it'll be fine for the most part. and you can of course customize the settings to make it as pretty/fluid as your card can handle.

I bought a radeon 9600 pro with 256ddr and it runs far cry pretty much ok framerates hang around 20-40 which is playable. I'm interested to know what kind of framerates people are getting with 9800's to compare :dennis:

Quite, but at my 9600pro it works fine(Dont put antianilasing on the max, makes much defirence)

Config:

Athlon XP 2600+ Barton
1 GB Twinmos DDR
Radeon 9600 XT

looks good in max details, 1280x1024, Antialiasing on (but not max). when viewing the whole island fps goes down to about 20 (which is still enough in most situations). The water detail (reflections) influences the fps most i think.

No less than 28 frames in 1024x768, but i got an 22" Ilyama so it looks kind of shitty in resolutions lower than 1280x1024.
