and the 9600 256 I guess will run it smooth due my experience
I remember I run it on a Geforce2 mx 32MB and lets say it "run" u could move arround almost smoothly and all even when u had enemies, the fight scene was runnin with lag ofcourse but lets say I could kill ppl and keep playing the doom3 tho, on the same machin u barely could move arround like 10 fps or so and in the fight scene like 2 fps!
the picture quality in both was really low tho...like 640*480 or so
and I run the doom3 on a 9600xt 256mb p4 2.6gh 512mb and it run pretty good, the resolution wasnt that hight though so I think u wont have prb with HF2 on ur card ;) and besides the final version of teh game will be always better and faster than the beta

yeah i tried runnin the doom3 beta on my geforce 4 mx440 haha boy did that suck lol, p.c world said "yeah mate its a top of the range graphics card" god i was stupid a year ago lol

Im sure HL2 beta is still around in torrent form on some of the main sites. Like KD said, there were lots of bits of levels, so you could wander round a bit a look at the prettiness, but you couldn't really tell anything about how the game would play like with DOOM3. Have you tried the STALKER beta also? That promises to be huge when it comes out. And it seems to run well on most gfx cards even tho its so pretty.

cuz its not any official release
and cuz it s a LEAK! id or valve wont like the idea that ppl wil lsee how the game looks like before its out
warze is when u get the game that is officialy released and has a price.
