I think you can assume how the handling is by reading the top posts

I have a steering Wheel :P

Your Sig!
How do you get your computer to get so fast?
Really, could you imply your knowledge of your computer on me?

 Yeah sure, your the first to ask to be honest and I have been waiting ages to post it without sounding like a geek, I am surprised Interman hasn't asked before!... :Oo:

My current development rig runs in a 2U rackmount chassis, utilising Windows XP Pro (64-Bit Pseudo mode) core under NDA from Microsoft campus, Thames Valley Park, Reading (God bless the clever bastards!). However personally I also run dual-boot Linux SuSE 9 running a custom multi-processor kernel for a dual Opteron 240 1.4Ghz multi-processor CPU.

I am currently running under a propriatory copper water-piped (off tap mains) water cooled CPU socket, which we currently name 'outertube' which I and the rest of my course have developed. We are currently developing low-cost quiet server state water cooling computers for my uni major. 5 of us, including our tutor!, run the same system reliably @ between 4.23 - 4.37Ghz (
Our next challenge is to run a 'single' water-cooled CPU at a reliable 5.0Ghz with reduced copper footprint and increased cooling coverage heat disipation system, theoretically possible via current technology. However, my friends, who are all engineering gurus (better than me!) have to resolve many problems like keeping the PCI/AGP bus devices, i.e. Creative Labs Audigy class PCI and Nvidia AGP 8x class GPU running reliably under strain in reference to the increase in main bus 'speed'. Bare in mind, there are USA students beating this record, but they recieve funding from major USA corporations and frequently get given un-locked manufacturer CPUs to work with! . We are a just a small group of gamers interested in overclocking... with a teenie weenie budget...

Our course/development is currently sponsored by a leading UK modding company and are currently under NDA as they provide our funding, as we hope to sell their intellectual property, once reliable, to the mainstream. However, Me and Neo1892! (my partner in crime!) are more than happy if you want to visit us at Reading Uni Campus. We are more than willing to show you our rigs...and how fast they are currently under stress from Far Cry and hi-res 3DMark 2003... May be go for a few beers aswell!

regards,

SkUnKmAsTeR!

A few things,
using tapwater without some fluids to fight corrosion is stupid. It'll eventually clog up, so I assume you've thought of this.
You're never going to hit 5ghz on regular water.
You can't "make" a agp/pci lock, so if you can't find the right bios setting combination then you'll probably have to wait for a new opteron chipset.
If you want to go farther than your current speed then you'll have to chill the water, but to do so you'll need something like a 1/4 hp compressor, some fluids (like ethanol). For tips read some threads here. You're definitely not going to limit it to a 2U system with chilled water though. And you'll obviously also have to fight the condensation somehow, but that's do-able if you use thick insulation on the copper tubing going to the cpu blocks, plus dialectric grease and some neoprene.

Interman, I thank you for your input.

1). Condensation has been a problem in the past ... You obviously know ya stuff...

2). We are not running water directly from a tap, thought i would just point that out. :Oo: However the main source is the tap, however we run it through a 2 stage storage system. that sits peripheral to the base unit. All water is 'refrigerated' if thats the right word to use, but the cooling solution that enters the chassis is a combination of water and a in-house solution, non-toxic and widely available by the way.... Its part of the secret of our success so far... all pushed around the system and into our CPU overtube by 6mm rubber tubing. Thats all I am allowed to say at the moment.

3). AGP/PCI issues are related to the peripheral devices, I thought I pointed this out. Cards lock up ...

4). Corrosion has never been an issue, we coat all surfaces apart from some perspex thats only in there to help us see our testing dyes...
