Just wondering which game do you think will be better? Both are pretty much in the same genre, except that Stalker has better graphics (imho) while Day of the Mutants lets you drive around in cars and scavenge stuff (kinda more of a Fallout but in first person).

Here are the relevant links:
Day of the Mutants
Stalker

Just had a discussion about that with a friend, he claims Day of the Mutants will be the better game, while I'm on Stalker's side

Looks hard to judge for me, since I really don't know much about either game.

Looking at the screenies, Stalker looks nicer, but that don't mean a whole lot. DOM sounds interesting because of the "last V8", but that all depends on how they implement it.

To early to tell, at least for moi

Really, we're hoping to have a preview+interview for both of the titles ASAP, so you'd know what they're all about

Well i am a great supported of Day of the mutants , seeing as i love the whole post apocalyptic idea. and it has never been properly introduced into the FPS realm. However stalker also looks very good.

Just going by the sceens...I have to say Stalker. Of course when demos come out for both I'll be able to better judge!

To tell you, Day of the Mutants describes the GH staff better when I think about it

I would have to say Stalker unless DOM has some hook that isn't shown in screenshots or description. I like the post-apocolypse "mad max" theme, but at the same time as described it will consist of "Over 20 different locations spread over 50 sq. miles of destroyed land giving a silent testimony of the terrible annihilation". Now unless the screenshots are not fully indicative of what all of the lands will look like, I cant help but look at the screens and go..... blah. FPS are all, for the most part, the same. I want some kind of special eye candy there or game feature to set it apart. Running around a bunch of desert environments with distant mesas or "desert mountains" as the only real graphics other than a few nicely decorated buildings just doesnt appeal to me. I am sure driving the car will probably be fun, but I just dont get the feeling that it will add that much excitement. If I wanted to drive a car I would go play a racing game. No real reason for the car being used is given, so I cant say what point it has, but if it is strictly for a "Spy Hunter" style kill the other bad guys on he road, no thanks. Now maybe if there is a strategic value to it it would make sense.
The mummies also dont impress me that much. They seem boring as an enemy and the graphics on them are equally unimpressive. There is really but a subtle difference between Quake/Unreal and Redneck Rampage, yet that makes all the difference when it comes to the gameplay.

That said, neither game has a demo to play so as to get a feel of gameplay, but based upon the descriptions, I would say Stalker, which actually reminds me of a graphically updated Half Life.

Well, not only that, but Stalker is also actually based on some EPIC sci-fi films/books, so imho it has a better story.

We're supposed to get an interview back from the developers where we've managed to ask them a looot of interesting questions about the game... Stay tuned.
