It should be in most stores by now... Did anyone get it yet? It's been a while since I've played MMORPGs, and I wonder how they've evolved... Think this one is worth a try?

I've heard people with pretty badass PCs have had performence problems with it, so I'm sure it looks pretty spectacular.

I just plain gave up on those MMORPGs some time ago. They can look fantastic, have great things you can do, etc. and there are still jerks in mass quantity who just want to ruin your day. Wasn't worth the aggravation.

Real game-play is Single Player... multiplayer is a way to waste some time

anyway in my whole life I just checked ultima online and I was not caught by the idea... doesn't seem to add the chat fun to gaming fun... it seems to cause both to loose fun.

I did have some fun with UO for a while. Made a fair amount of cash mining ore and selling it to smiths, and I enjoyed the economic aspect for a while.

I was working with a friend, and that made it interesting. But once we had pretty much seen everyplace, and had our own house, and a really awesome set of gear, etc. it just got stale.

Nothing to work for, and just chipping away at a hill for hours wasn't really much fun

There is one MMO game that Iwouldnt ming trying. Â*It is the one that uses real money. Â*I would love to see how an economic online game works. Â*Of course I'd have to get money first! Ohh and Star Wars! Can't wait to build my own lightsaber

Errr.... Anyone else remember this one 2D MMORPG game released by a Montreal-based company with its (company's) name starting with a V? I played it around 3 years ago, and it was the damned best MMORPG I've ever played in my life... Trying to recall hte name, I guess I'll get back to you with it.

The only reports on AC2 I have heard were all negative in terms of gameplay. I, myself am coming of a ~3 year addiction to Everquest aka Evercrack and looked at the original AC for maybe a week before becoming bored and switching back to EQ. Even with the differences between AC and AC2, it doesnt seem to be much of an improvement, except visually.

It seems some of people dont like the skill tree. There are also problems with the game only being playable in a few countries, due to credit card billing. Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States are the only ones that can set up an account to play as of right now.

That said, the graphics are supposed to be awesome and the quests are supposed to be fun. No real spawn camping needed, though the game is still new and not all potential players are able to do so as of yet. The servers also have been up and down alot.

With Everquest 2 due out soon, as well as Sony's other project, Star Wars Galexies, I dont see AC2 doing very well. I will be waiting on Star Wars, personally.

Hrm... What other MMORPG would you recommend then? The last 3D MMORPG I've played was DAOC and to tell you the truth I didn't really like it, so I've used my one free month press CD offer and didn't renew it.

truthfully, right now there isnt much out there new. Everquest seems to still be going on strong, or at least according to friends. DAOC i played a little bit of, as a friend got an account, and after 2 months or so, got bored with it and let me play with it. I was bored after a week. Shadowbane, if it ever actually makes it onto the market, is beginning to look like the Daikatana of the MMORPG world, and seems destined to bust no longer how much longer they delay, due to loyal fans getting fed up with the wait. Anarchy Online seems to not hae been as successful as desired, I believe they even started offering people a few months free to come back to the game.
For right now, when I actually want to play an RPG, I play NWN. I can play it online if I want, or in Single player if not. I am more of a character micromanager than roleplayer, so I like to play around with the combinations of classes and skills and attribute points. Although it was kind of different to get used to raising skills by putting a point into it instead of using the skill, and as you use it, you eventually gain points in it to the max for your level as is the skill point system in EQ. it was actualy rather ironic, as when in EQ, i always hated having to try to train up my skills to max for whatever level I was. Anyhow, NWN is fun, and there are servers for both if you like the whole roleplaying/playing "in character" as well as some where it is just a group of people getting together to kill stuff and have fun chatting while doing so. With the "static worlds" some people have set up their servers as, it is like any of the other MMORPG's out there, only free.
