I've never had any probs with steam either but I do agree it is a buggy app and when it first came out very few people could get it to work and barely anyone was able to update or download CS 1.6 with it. Thank god when the steam installation and CS 1.6 cache came out a month or so after steam that really helped.

when i open console if i type 1 thing on letta or numba it dissapears! its HL when im not playing its alright but not when im playing!!

its def steam, i been playin on cs wiv dop3-fi$h for a while now over steam and i get a lovely ping of 200-250+, duno why?
guess its jus one of those things where they aint fussed if it wrks or not but if HL-2 uses the steam console we are buggered

check your internet connection setting. I have found that my connection setting was frequently altered back to 56k.
