Right, I'm new so I don't even have a sig or anything, but I reckon gamers back when it was the old NES and SNES had more to look forward to and get excited about back then. Graphics are hitting a brick wall where nothing impresses much these days, plus ideas are running thin for fresh games. Back in old times, gamers were brought up with a plethora of fresh and constantly improving games and technology. Now it seems they've reached a stalemate. What do you think?

Yep, I think the old days of gamers where better. It wasn#t a technology overkill but the games were mad fun to play.
And once in a while there was a graphicblaster like earthworm Jim and such. They looked great but more important thay kept the gameplay high.
Games nowadays looks for a part great but the gameplay was left so far behind it would take a decade to get them back on track.
I still play Super Contra with my friends or these funny SNK games. Most new games that comes out you play, beat it and hardly touh it again.
I remember the good ol days when I released the cheatcode for Street Fighter 2 how to play as the end bosses...ah, the good ol days :dennis:  B)

I agree.

Seiken Densetsu 3 > all games.
Lufia 2 > all games.
Chrono Trigger > all games.

Yep, I agree - old school > new games.
But that doesn't mean that the new games are bad, no... Not at all!

Half-Life 2 will rock, Doom 3 will rock, FarCry rocks, PainKiller rocks, Final Fantasy XII will rock, MGS 3:SE will rock em... You know what my point is ;). But I know what YOUR point is. The old-school games was so much better.

i suggest you keep a close eye on the upcoming nintendo games... they're intending to change, or at least add ways to play games, and if you go in that direction i'm sure you'll start having more fun than with the generic third person action games. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat looks awesome, but it won't be out until sometime next year. I also suspect you'll like the DS, so be sure to look out for it
