I believe I shall be picking up STALKER regardless of the demo situation. From what I've seen of the movies, interviews, etc, it seems like they're trying to do something all their own, which not a lot of folks do nowadays.

Well even if its only add a few skill points onto various abilities etc than that'll be enough no need to tack something on that isn't what the games about.... if that makes sense.
Still some of the video and screenies look amazing, I do worry though that sometimes these promo vids etc absolutley have to show the game in its best light, but for me if the finished product can keep within a 20% quality margin of what we have seen then we are in for a stonker  |

Yeah definately looks good from the vids and screenshots. Still it would be nice to have a level to play through tho, jsut to get a first hand feel of the game.

im getting doom3, half life 2 and stalker anyways cos i know where to get them cheap! i dont care about demos cos they don't show anything about the final product! B)
spiderman 2 demo for pc sucked and so did the game, but ut 2004 demo was ok but full game was excellent! I know that doom 3 and half life 2 will be excellent but im not sure stalker will match up to these games! who knows? :bucky!:  :P |

If we take PCGamer, I think the reivews will be like this:
Half-Life 2 = 98 % (like Half-Life 1)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. = 95 %

I'll be getting all three for sure!
For me it's not a case of which is best, who has the best engine, or a million other comparisons. They should all be brilliant ( I SO HOPE ) in their own way.
Each of themn deserves my hard earned money thats for sure.
As for reviews; well I have friends who absolutley love certain games that I think are poo. So would my review of said game be of any use to them?
No of course not, reviews are usefull yes, but they aren't to be believed to the point of make a buying decision as they are purely based on a particular persons opinion of them.
