DS or PSP

alright i want to know what you guys are going for, or your not getting non of em or what ever just post.

PSP if it's not too expensive...

It depends. If you want to play Mario, Pokemon, and other Nintendo game than get DS. If you want hardcore graphics, PS2 games like Metal Gear Solid, Grand Turismo 4 , NFS: Underground, watch movies, listen to music, use it as GPS or something than you go with PSP. Im deffinetle going with PSP :francesco:. Sony knows how to make thing that everyone will enjoy. Plus Logitech will sell additional components. its the price difference that makes the choice for some people DS <199$ PSP<299$

Face it guys, the psp is gonna be a waste of time. It's gonna cost loads, and all you're gonna get are a few ports of games already available on the ps2. There's absolutely no innovation at all! And as for movies... Been there and done that with the GP32, and as nice as it sounds, it really isn't practical on a handheld (even if it is so big that you need ridiculously large hands to hold it!) Sony may be owning the home console world, but i'm fairly confident that nintendo will stay in charge of the portable market, i mean come on! who is seriously gonna pay $300 for a portable console?! it'd be cheaper to buy a ps2, have it surgically implanted into your chest, and construct a helmet which dangles a tiny screen above your head!

All the psp can boast about is power and a huge array of utterly pointless features (who here is gonna use something so large as an mp3 player?). Nintendo have realised that in the handheld market high specs are no longer what is important, it is innovation that matters. They're really taking gaming to a new level, and I for one am backing them the whole way!

lol, yeah right, erm, it has 2 screens, yeah and, what game can truley use it in an "inovative" way, wow, i know what they could do thats really imaginative...you could play the game on the bottom screen and have the upper screen as a map..aint that so cool...lol, yeah right, its lame, touch screen is pretty cool, but seriously are they mad, using it the ONLY way to control metroid DS, wtf, thats gonna be one pain in the ass, and you would think "new super mario bros" would use both screens but no, they dont, kinda shows what most games on the machine will be like, they will use one screen and thats all, and yes psp will have conversions, but they are focusing on original software, most of the titles anounced are totally new, not on consoles or anything.

psp beats DS any day, now the REAL successor to the GBA may be a different story, to me the DS seems like a bit of a money grabbing scheem (sp?) cos they know all the nintendo fanboys will buy it. and before you say i sound like a sony fanboy, no im not its just a fact its a better machine, it does shit loads.

wow, dejavu, seems like the GC all over again making a gaming only machine, to stand out they need to add things that are popular at the time, ps2 and xbox did it with a dvd player, and the psp is doing in now with the mp3 and "dvd-ish" discs. nintendo needs to get with the times

NO...they dont NEED to up the graphics department cos, erm, we have no alternative machine, if they had competition it would be a battle of power, just like the consoles today, like if the ps2 was the ONLY machine ever they could keep the graphics as they are now forever, you know why...cos we wouldnt be able to turn to anything else, it would be the only one. and thats what the GB series has always been, no compertition no need to improve. i mean the sega handheld had better graphics then the gba and that came out when nintendo was just making the GB smaller. they havnt "realised they dont need power" its cos they cant be arsed...lol
