I might be confused here, but when you say Elite, I am thinking of Gunship Elite. Fun game, no argument there, but didn't Wing Commander come out before that?

Here's why it's so revolutionary to me. It's the game that I played almost exclusively during my days of being young. It was also the first game I saw that was 3D. (Had to throw away that Pong-console.) Bucky, Bucky, Bucky... I'm talking about Elite, made by the genius David Braben. Published by BBC and Gametek. There's Elite, Elite Plus, Elite 2: Frontier and Elite 3: First Encounters.

Who cares that it was composed outta crappy sprites and the textures were made outta BMP files.... I still killed an enormous amount of time on it, probably finished it somewhere between five to ten times. So that I'd have to call revolutionary
