Well I have been playing since august 2. I did restart once.
I am now continueing the game on a Pentium III 450 mhz 256 MB ram and a Geforce FX 5200 with 128 MB ram.
The game runs at 5 FPS when shooting/killing enemies sometimes even 3 FPS. The sound is mostly still good thank god =D
When just moving around it can get a bit faster up to 20 FPS.
Also after changing the gamma and brightness settings I enjoy the game much more
Even at these low FPS I still enjoy the game
Though it's a shame I have to play at low FPS... the game is such much more cool and enjoyable at high FPS
It really deserves to be played on a fast system lol... but i've said that before ;)
Anyway...
I thought the hell level was the last level... <- oops dead wrong
This game has many levels =D and beautifull too.
I guess it just takes longer to finish on a slower pc ;) just the loading of all levels combined probably takes 2 hours

or maybe even more
I am now in the cavern... I have no idea how much levels are still coming. I must be getting close... since sealing the hell portal must be near end of game... (I am stuck at crane ;) ) See forum help section ;)
Anyway this game simply rocks... anybody dissing this game like nooblet deservers a kick in the ass for real

lol.
It's simply the best first person shooter so far :P
Sure I can agree with nooblet about unrealistic things... but this game is not about pure realism.. it's a fantasy/horror game. LOL
What the f**k did you expect lol ?!
Also it's a remake of an old simple doom game.
I can start bitching about things like:
1. The game doesn't have a night vision mode =D which would make a hell lot of sense for a dark game like this
But that would have made the game less fun I think... <- too realisticc... to avp 2 like ;)
I like the game just as it is.
Though I do agree the story is kinda weak when you start thinking about it

Still the game is good.
Though... I would like to see new games with the doom 3 engine with a better thought about story etc
That would ultimately rock.
That would also be my advice to id software.... now that they are done with doom 3 and proceeding with a new game... think it through really thorougly ;) though keep the fantasy elements and the though stuff

Like I am a big bad motherf**ker can't of things =D I like the style nothing wrong with that
Though would that really make more fun games ?
ID software's games have always been: 60% realism 40% fantasy or so.
Changing all these things like adding vision mode would make it more real.
Then games would become maybe: 80% realism and 20% realism... I'm scared I won't like those games...
I didn't like Call Of Duty that much <- too much realism... bleh...
Keep the fantasy elements... <- that's what makes it a game =D
