the catalyst 4.9 drivers....

is the catalyst 4.9 good ? is it really any noticeable changes in doom 3 ?

Depends on your hardware, newer hardware(X800) can see up to 30% improvement, Anything older thena 9600 shouldn't see more then 2%, 9600-9800 is about 5-10%, I got about 5-10% improvement, I benchmark 49.9@1024x768 medium on the timedemo 1 run, 55.0@ 2nd run

I have witnessed a huge increase in performance on my x800 Pro... Not had time with all the compos recently to try it out on other OpenGL games though. Anyone?
