Now Mr HL2 fanboy(vomiter) You know what I really love? the fact that you wanted this topic locked so that no one could respond to you, so you HAD to be right, well guesss what, it doesn't work that way, I get to prove you wrong.
Now, I really love the 3 paragraphs titled just to me, your rant now includes personal attacks! yey! And each of those paragraphs, you were mistaken.
1st, You need to check my phrasing I said at least 550 mods, yes, now there will be 600 or so mods(check moddb and do some estimates for new ones)
2nd, I can judge a game by 4 things, the final product, engine specs(sound system liek fmod, DX9) that are given near release, screenshots(not videos) of ingame play of the near final product, and the developers track record, I have not assaulted the final product and only stated the videos can be faked and need not be listened to, I stated that the sound engine in DOom is CPU based and therefor much crisper on the older and worse sound cards, while HL2's isn't, and also that OpenGL supports crossplatforming while DX does not, and also by using screenshots the graphics aren't nearly as crisp as most games that came out since 2002, and lastly that Valve has a sad track record on release dates, SDKs, and new products.
3rd, CSSource is not a mod, because it is developed by valve for their game, mod means modification, and if its in the product then its not modified, it is the product. So CSSource does represent HL2.
Now on the other staments:
Bugs are unavoidable but their presence can be minimalized, HL2, source, and CSSource(the test so far) clearly show their presence is not minimized.(also valve's track record shows that in all products they have ever created, they were riddleed with bugs in release, HL, Steam)
On the release date... It ain't gonna happen, ill gladly bet on that.
I love how incorrect nearly everything you said(is it everything?) in that post is, and how you wish that no one says otherwise.

HL2 fanboy? Um no, don't ever put me down to Nooblet's level. I'm a fan yes, but it's not the one and only game I love and you just completely obliterated my statement on bugs. Every damn forum includes somebody saying that HL2 is so buggy. I want to get it through their thick skulls that games will have bugs. Once again, can't judge how buggy it's going to be until the final release! Terefore, once again you were judging a game before its release. And I will restate CS never needed to be interactive with the environment. All you're going to see are objects reacting to explosions. You're not going to be able to startup generators or push buttons to open doors like in HL. It's just not needed in CS.

Dor the reason it doesn't look so good is partially because Doom3 uses an effect called normal mapping which I don't think HL2 uses, it allows x,000 models to look like x,000,000 poly models(its a type of bump mapping, you make a map of the high poly(the models for the normal maps are in the millions) and ur vpu applys it to your low poly(in the thousands) to make it look like the high) Unreal 3 also uses this effect(they explain it in depth in the Unreal3 e3 video)turn off bump mappin in Doom3 to see it witout the normal maps, turn off bump mapping, youll see the difference(it is used becuase high poly can't be rendered in real time apps like games and still be playable, so this breaks the poly-performance limit) Actually Ill post a screen...

This is the reason I wanted this locked. I'm so sick of comparing D3 and HL2. I never compared anything in the opening statement. Read over it again. There is nothing that states any of my opinions of any game in that statement. I don't even know how this turned into another HL2/D3 comparison topic.

Just a note: No new game will be considered by the market as revolutionary unless its graphics are good(no matter how good the gameplay is a new game with HL1 style graphics will not be considered as a revoultionary stepping stone)

That's strictly opinion. Who cares what critics say about a game if you love it anyways.
