SOURCE ENGINE BETA TEST

As we get closer to releasing Half-Life® 2, we need to deploy the Source engine to a wide group to find any remaining configuration issues. We will accomplish this by conducting a limited-time beta test of Counter-Strike™: Source™ via Steam to a select group of our customers. During this beta, problems can be reported using the in-game bug-reporting tool. In addition any crashes will automatically generate a report back to our bug database. Valve thanks you for your on-going support, and we hope that Half-Life 2 lives up to your expectations.

so who ever got CZ or ATI/HL2 deal - get it!

LOL, i played it already...no need for me to test it again

Is there really nothing new/interesting?

I mean it looks JUST LIKE my original CS except with WORSE player+gun models and skins and a nicer looking map, but is that really how it is

What my game looks like

The M4A1
one of the player models...
The AWP
Mp5
And So on)

don't expect any graphical improvment.


PS: they could as well have saved the barrels...they do nothing for the game....

the SS doesnt look so great, but the trailer was pretty cool

remember that the SS's didnt do justice with DOOM3 either - the game is much better looking

what screenshots are you talkinga bout? the ones I posted are for the oringal CS, they are client side mods that Im running, and they look better then whats in CS Source, I watched the CSS videos and thought this is the same thing as the original with graphics that are from 2002, nothing new, nothing exciting, and Kamisori confrimed this.

Also the videos for CS source are pretty much BS, you can't make the boxs move like that, at least on dust, the only moveable objects are barrels.

at least on the vid the fingers arent squared anymore :P

and i also loved the water effects, the models of the players r much smoother and anti alised....

i dont think u can make the weapons look any better than in the original CS ;)

First, i can get you a hands mod that makes alll the hands in your original CS look nice.

The water effects are nice, but again, nothing i haven't seen before in UT2k4.
The models of the players are not AAed in actual gameplay(unless you play it like that, i don't) their quality is actually quite subaverage of a game nowidays, and my Original CS Mods make it look nicer

And you are right, with all the mods, my CS does look better then anything valve has.

(u know.. a Ut2k4 mod of CS would kick CSS's ass so badly...)

I would like a CS:CZ Cd-key also(just to try out the CSS Beta, and finally shut my mouth and say i tried it lol)
