A good example is Tony Tough. That's a game with oldschool graphics, but which ends up being very nice. There are also some good isometric rpgs out that are worth checking out, so my answer would be; yes, I would buy something that looks outdated, depending on the overall quality.

Everyone that said yes is lying (at least to themselves). You will never be able to get by the dated look/feel. Which means your ability to immerse yourself in the game is severely hampered.
If the original Half-Life (before the graphics update) was released now, it would be panned for its look by everyone. Sad but true. |

Depends what genre we're talking about.. FPS... no, even if it has more features than all other games combined... Sports? Doubt it... Third person action/adventure? Nope. 2D RPG? Maybe. RTS? Probably... Quest/adventure? Sure, why not.

unfortunatly i would probably pass it by, graphics arn't the only thing i look for in a game, but they help (alot)
i still like alot of my ps1 games, but when i play them its only for a short period of time, they're fun yes, but you can only take so much bad graphics (that sound right? i can't even play syphon filter 3 anymore(it was my favorite game) it just looks too poor now (plus, get so used to mouse and keyboard, you can never go back to controlers) |
