Doom 3 with 4.9 beta!

Hi guys
When i run doom 3 with fraps I get 45-60 fps with a Ati 9800 pro @ 405/378 with the new beta drivers, is that good or bad

? I also noticed that the drivers fix a few problems such as overclocking. I overclocked my card with the 4.8 drivers and I noticed "snow flakes". But once I started to use the beta 4.9 drivers I was able to overclock it. :thumbup: . By the way Doom 3 is an excellent game if you are like me and love to shoot stuff over and over again but I can understand why a lot of people don't like it because its quite a linear kind of game.

My computer specs for those people who love to ask questions:

Shuttle SN45G with silent X 250 watt power supply with ICE heatsink tech etc...
Sapphire 9800 pro @ 405/378
Athlon mobile 2600+ @2.4ghz
Nforce 2 ultra 400 onboard sound
2 sticks of 512 kingmax 3500 in dual mode

45-60fps is very good for doom 3 :thumbup:

those snowflakes you were talking about are artifacts and show up only if you overclock your card too high, so you might wanna turn it down just a little bit ;)

Nah the guy is right. I think its a bit of a glitch those 'snow flakes'. When using both 4.9 Cat Betas and 4.8 Cats I have seen snowflakes in certain areas of the game (e.g. right at the start of the game (like 1 min in game). Even is I clocked my card too high it wouldn't artifcact that soon).

i really like doom3 but there just seems to be something missing from it i dont know what it is though, i dont think doom3 will be as legendary as its other id predesesors (shit spelling i know) it just doesnt have the same feel, maybe it was just hyped too much and i expected more than i should've? another downer i have about doom3 which i'm not sure if anyone else has it but i cant seem to find any really fast, slick servers for mp! i pick up low pings but the games just seem to lag! i have a 1 meg connection so i doubt thats the prob and a gig of ram and an AX800pro so i dont think thats the prob either!
