Hmm, interesting thread. My answers would probably have to be the super mario games, since they took a good portion of my childhood. Those games got me started, but I don't think I've ever been a "casual gamer", because when I get started on something / addicted to something then I'm likely to take it to the extremes. Diablo 2: LOD and Quake 3 are the games I've played the most, because of their replay value. When I was younger I never really played a lot of RPGs, and Diablo 1 was probably the game that got me really interested in them. Quake 3 is probably the game that improved my FPS skills the most, because it simply requires skill if you're going to win, but I don't know if I can say they've influenced my gaming a whole lot.

yeah, man i remember alex kid in miracle world..great stuff
i rented it over and over again...also mario brothers AND the damn good games goonies 1and2. for pc my first game that got me hooked was not a specific game but a whole genre, the adventure games genre (1 word SIERRA), which i still like the most - cant wait for runaway |

well the first games i really liked were back on my old old computer, i wouldn't say i was hooked on them though but dig dug, montezuma's revenge, and karatika were pretty cool games. anyone else ever play them?
i remember alex kid, had it for my sega master system i think. |

The first game that really made me a gamer is probably Wings. I guess many of you don't know what it is, but it's one of the best 3D WW1 flightsim for Amiga... The games that made me a multiplayer gamer was gravity force and super cars 2 that was for two players. Also amiga.
