Value gaming laptop?

I need a value gaming laptop for my older brother who is going to university in a month. I've had a look around but havent found anything. I'd like a £500-800 laptop with 512mb ram and and a cpu of 1.5-2Ghz and most importantly a good grpahics card like the 9600 mobile or something simliar from nvidia. Plz help cause he's going soon Its a shame I can't custom build one cause its so uch cheaper is unreal! I hate all they people like Tiny and PC world trying to make PCs look good by adding a powerful cpu then having only 256 ram or less and a low level nvidia card then sticking a whopping price tap of £800-1000!

No such thing, the only decent gfx card for laptops is the 9800 mobile and laptops with that cost over 2K

wow, you are totally pushing your luck....Maybe you can buy a used or refurbished laptop for about that, but then again it probably wont have a good graphics card.

Sepht ur wrong about the 9800. Just because you think you are the smartest person in the world and you do research, doesnt mean a 9600 or similar card is bad. Saying that the 9800 card is the only good one is completely f**king bogus. Think about it, labtops arent really meant for games anyways....

I got mine here about 2 years ago. P4 2.66GHz, 512PC 2700, 60GB, 5.1 Hardware Audio, and radeon 9000 64mb.
It was about $1200 2 years ago. It still runs great and I've never had any problems with it.
They come without an OS but you can get a brand new full version of Windows XP Pro for like $100 off ebay.
I just have to say they have a quality product. I did benchmark comparisons to an alienware with the same specs and mine matched them if not did better. And the alienware was double the price. If you want a gaming laptop then check them out.
