Read the 2 topics in my sig. throughaly and through it all. HL2's graphics are nothing new. so even though CSS is at the same level, thats nothing special, its altually approaching the lower end of the spectrum quite quicky, before its even out. Welcome to the GH3D Forums. |

if you've played CS:Source, you know there are some video settings that cannot be selected yet becaase they're not fully optimized or even implemented yet. I know HL2 won't be much of a graphical improvement over CS:S but it'll be like Kami said, 10% or so. Not to mention that CS:S runs kinda bad because it's multiplayer and that slows things down as opposed to singleplayer where there isn't all the activity with ping and sending/recieving info from servers and all that crap going on. So you can also expect HL2 SP to run better than CS:S runs.

offline should run WORSE, yes WORSE. Packets are easy to handle, most of it takes about .2% CPU initalization at worst Offline has: AI, great CPU power! more physics, more CPU power! larger levels, more ram, cpu, and VPU power! Possibly more chareceters! vechile code! more space for memory leaks! Larger objects! |

I concur......... sepht is right on this one , CS:S is going to be much easier to run and thats good news for most ppl because valve hopes to have a very successful transition and maintain as many players as possible without losing many.
