Will you still buy Half-Life 2

I have noticed that a few sites are now saying the HL2 is finished and has been sent to the publisher for testing. The premature speculation that this game will be released on a November release date which no-one has officially confirmed is ridiculous. It does appear though that creating all this hype has only made it more difficult to get the game finished as for me I am sick of all the hype that is being thrown about with screen-shots, videos, interviews. And still no game? Slip, Slip, Slip and excuse after excuse. Does this mean that Valve can't deliver? Let’s face hard facts that the game might be finished but still require 3 or 4 months of testing, no body Knows? no body is talking, if Valve were pretty certain that it was all done surely they would have the confidence to set a release date.

With this in mind i am feeling less and less enthusiastic about buying HL2 and there are so many other up and coming titles that may steal a lot of HL2's thunder when it is finally released. Consumers are more discerning these days and will vote their feet if they think they are being mislead. Although I hate to say it EA have always been very good in the way they deliver top titles to customers and maybe if Valve had worked with a bigger publisher they might have had greater support to get the job done.

The ultimate question is will you buy HL2 or will Stalker or Republic Commando steal away your affections?

i'll buy it simply because it's hl2 and it's a game everyone should have in their collection, but i agree that valve has made some pretty bad decisions. just imagine if they had announced it when they actually started developing it.

i agree about ea though, they have some very talented people working for them, but they also have the money and people to shift around if a project is in need of help. but even so, their newer games are solid in every aspect, and normally with less bugs than the average game, so they do deserve some kudos

Yeah I will buy Hl2, although i like to flame Valve cuz of all their screw-ups.
I wont rush to the store when it's out though, When i see it some day in the shelves,
well then i am gonna buy it. Wont mark the callender for its realease though..
I'll just see when its out, and then aaah well i need some good FPS again anyway..
And i agree that this could be a game that might just be a must have,
but I aint a HL2 fanboy so i am carefull with those words

I don't think everyone should have HL2...in fact I think only people who wants it should have it...

of course Ill buy it, who cares about valves business decisions, policies, or "screw ups" whatever that means, they are just a software company the game is a game, probably better than anything else coming out for a long while too the beta was pretty good after it was pieced together so the full game should be fun, why wouldn't anyone buy it, some people here are so screwed up about why they would/wouldn't buy, christ its just a video game not the cure for cancer.

Guys at valve r jus goin through a bad phase and some bad luck with all these legal suits goin on ... But, soon they will see light at the end of tunnel and we will all lay our hands on HL2. Oh hell yeah! I will buy HL2 even if released 10 years later.
