Just thought id post some lines from the hl2 review. I also thought hl2 would suffer the same fate as doom 3, but after reading pc gamer i think it is going to be good....

"Valve have surpassed not only themselves, but everyone else too. Half life 2 is an astounding accomplishment. It is the definate statement of the last 5 years of first person shooters, everything else was just a stopgap. Half life 2 is a near perfect sequel"

"These virtual enviroments are little more than a stage on which the action will play out. And what jaw-dropping, Mind slamming action that is"

Maybe it will be a really, Really good game after all?
Also, I really doubt valve are going to make it crap after speanding over 40 million dollars on it...

Well, I personally expect a good shooter with maybe a few weapons we didn't see before. But it'd be nice for it to be a revolutionary game once again :P

well i dont know if Half Life is worth the wait but my brother and i already got the silver package installed it on both Computers and i have to say Counter Strike:Source looks really good and since i had never play it, is a decent online game(well not as good as COD Unite Offensive the multiplayer mode is freaking fun) can't wait for DoD:Source and HL2

I can see where some of you guys are coming from with the graphics, as they aren't as good as they are a year ago, but I really don't see why so many seem to think the gameplay will suck. We certainly haven't seen anything that looks too bad from it, and it's predecessor, in my opinion, had one of the best singleplayer campaigns out there. I expect to see that in a sequel, and all the reviews are telling me I will, plus my experience with Counter-Strike Source. I think that Half-Life 2 could very possibly become game of the year, with or without all the hype.

They are giving CS: Source free with the game, I can go without a dm mode. Speaking of that though, I wonder if HL1: Source will let you play deathmatch...?

We havn't seen anything bad from HL2? well, we actually havn't seen anything great about it either.

CS:S is crap...HAHAHA...now that was a slik counter.
