HL2 worth the wait?

Call me a cynic but I don't think HL2 will be all that great to play when its released. Look at the dissapointing gameplay that Doom 3 offered, admittedly it looked good and that was about it. I hate fan boys of any series who even if they were served a hot turd on a plate would argue that the latest installment of the game is the best ever.

I hope people will judge this game for what it is, not what they want it to be. 1998 was a good year for FPS games, will Valve manage pull it off and do it again in 2004

Well there have been reviews done, 96, 90, and another 90 so even if it's too much it SCHOULD be very good.
But we'll see, we'll see

f**k HL2 anyway. I mean, I'm sure it'll be a very good game and all that, but I really want to see the new Perfect Dark. Jesus, how good Goldeneye was indeed. Good 'ol days.

BTW White Knight what are the games you think are good?
just wondering 'cause some of my friends think that Doom sucked and also Half Life 2 but they play Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Xbox LMAO! talk about a sucky game

98 was good. Quake3
99 was better. Unreal+More

Doom3 wasn't a bad game at all. Gameplay was good, not at all dissapointing It was simple and fun, its a game for gods sake, it pioneered that non-existant Horror FPS genre.
HL2 won't be called bad, beacuse the hype will blow over the fact that it has nothign we haven't seen before.

Yeah! get over it guys! HL2 is gonna suck!

You're not a cynic, but a warezer with too much spare time on his hands, not enough braincells (see quote below), and an unhealthy obsession with HL2 and possibly Gabe himself (which you try to hide behind low-key hostility towards Valve). Read the damn reviews that have appeared so far, or see the gameplay trailers released (or try inventing a time machine and attending E3 to see actual game presentations firsthand, if HL2 is the only thing you think about) before writing BS. Also the notion of "fan boys", and comparison between HL2 (PC game solely) and Doom 3 (Both PC and console game = dumbed down) bring a lot of credibility to your post. *applause*
