Its probably not going to be released until after April 2005.(court date in march, 1 month for packaging)

Dont ppl ever read news sites? A few months ago it was confirmed that hl2 collecters wont be out in the UK on about 100 websites.
Well, Half life 2 is only going to be released in one retail version here in the UK, and thats the standard DVD version. That has been confirmed by valve, and that is why people have not heard of the collecters edition in any the game shops. If you buy it through steam you can already get the collecters edition (GOLD PACKAGE). Gold includes:
*HL2
*CS:S
*HL:S
*DOD:S
*VALVES BACK CATALOG

*3 HL2 posters
*HL2 Soundtrack
*HL2 HAT
*HL2 Sticker
*City 17 postcard
*HL2 Strategt Guide
*Collecters box
*Win a trip to valve

And anybody who has decided not to get half life 2 just becouse of the release being pushed back, Get A Life.
And all you warez ppl, your not going to be able to download any of the cool mods that are going to be released for HL2 (Loads of them) coz you need steam to play them.

As for great mods.. I have yet to see too much promise from any other then Sven, but sven was always a jackass.

If you can play HL2, CSS online and without steam, im going to bet u can play warezed of all the good mods.

Hope you already paid ur 50pounds. The game might not come out until mid-late 2005 because of legal issues, even then it will still be far from revolutionary. (CSS's cool factor died off the day after I got it, even doom3 lasted longer) O yeh and all u guys that paid through steam.. I sure hope you read the liceance agreement. Because of legal issues they could charge u more. and maybe more just because they want to, and guess what? their agreement allows it.

If I buy that retarded bronze package at a store, can I immediately take it home and download any of the mods listed (like with HL now.) Will CS:S be available for free download? Will DOD:S? Will HL:S?
That's my main concern. I doubt HL:S will be, but I can live without that.

they are actually in the package...but you would need to install it...that's the hard part....

If you buy the bronze you get to play CSS. thats it. You can't download any of the extra mods, u can't DL Hl1:S, u can't play HL2. Only CSS and its 9 crap maps. havana? persanni? god... Inferno, assault and siege would been better.

Bronze is HL2 only.
Telling u valve is all money hungry and shit.
Bronze is also 55 bucks.
Silver in box is 80. (off steam... it could become 80, there is a good chance the courts will rule for equal prices, and valves agreement allows extra charges)
