Bugs, Not Vivendi, Holding HL2?
According to blogger Bill Harris, an anonymous industry insider has sent in word regarding HL2's RC status. How reliable is this "anonymous industry" source? We'll soon find out. Here's the quote:Vivendi is very eager to get the game out ASAP and Valve submitted RC5 late last week to Vivendi for testing. I think they were down to three show stoppers after RC4, nothing huge. They're being very careful about getting a stable release out the door and with all the big reviews hitting the net I'm not surprised. It's looking to be something very special. The delays are not Vivendi sitting on a finished game or Valve not playing fair.If true, this news would end the rumours about Vivendi holding the game back as a "hostage" in the light of the lawsuits between Valve and Vivendi. Again, if this proves true, a gold announcement can't be far away.

Now you can all stop crying about how vu will hold it back, there not gonna!! :rant:

Ok a little back on track here...
Shucks Sepht beat me to posting my poll to stop the HL2 threads for Silent Archer.

Ok so by buying bronze, I can't download(free) any of the official mods, such as CS:S, or DOD:S. So in other words, completely backwards than how HL is now. What happened to this great mod support? would i be able to download ANY mods such as unnofficial mods like Jurassic Rage or something (yes, i know Jurassic Rage is probably never even going to get released)? If not, can I download mods onto the silver version?

All i wanna know, which version (cheapest) can i get CS:S, DOD:S, and any other promising looking mods. If silver, just let me know, because that sucks the big one.

CS:S you get for free when buying bronze or buying the retail version of the game.

DOD:S and other "source" flavors that are sanctioned by valve (in terms of "sellable" mods) do require a move to the silver.

other "new" mods will undoubtably be free unless they're really great and Valve buys them like they did CS and the CS team.
