Nice to see there is still massive communication faliure between Vialve, Vivendi and Retailers. A few days ago I visited mt local Game store here in the UK. Upon asking when I would be able to pre-order HL2 I was greeted with a reply that when something like ' Oh we don't know when it will be available ' Even better was my second question ' Will you be selling the Collectors Edition ' Again the response of ' Never heard of it ' was even more saddening.
PC Gamer here in the UK has also a review of the finished game, so why the delay? The magazine only review finished code so it is even more curious that they also mention that Vivendi refuses to confirm that HL2 is finished and in there posession? Wtf is going on? When I want to be able to purchase the product but no-body seems to no either A If it is complete B When I will be able to pre-order (In the UK) C When it will be released What ever happened to honesty.... Lets face it if HL2 appears as an ISO on P2P servers three weeks before the UK gets official retail copies who is going to bother to pay for it.

Well, preloading has been available for quite some time now.. just let your steam-software take care of that one for you. I think the release of hl2 is in the beginning of november (this year I hope ). But nothing is for sure though.. I've heard a few diffrent dates, but 1/11 seems to apear more then once so.. lets hope thats the date.My unemployment starts November 1... how odd.... GAME ON!

Well, I'm not surprised the people at your game store never heard of the collector's edition, I've been to a lot of game stores where the employees don't know their ass from doom 3. As for piracy, that applies to any game, really, but HL2 has the whole Steam system, which, love it or hate it, is going to make pirating the game a bitch.

i disagree with you on that one, having the game available through steam will make it easier. . .
my brother used my steam account and was able to play cs: source the same time as me, just not on the same servers. because there are thousands of servers, this doesnt appear to be a big problem usually if you pirate a game you can't play online at all, but if someone lets you use their steam account it could make things easier for a lot of people |

hi, im german so dont laugh about my english ... ;)
I think the most people would download the game at a warez site, because we all waited so long and the trouble of this delaying shit causes a big angerness . We all know that the developers of this game have done a big profit about this game, for example the sells of ati graphic cards,, steam ,, the online purchase ...etc. I only want to say that i for example have got this steam account, where i preloaded this half life 2 game and its speed was amazing. I heard about people, who had trouble with the download, but that isnt true. Ive got a 3mbit pipe and my avarage download speed was 350 KB/sec, so there cant be any problems with speed or something ,, only if i have a got a 1 kb modem. and the other thing i want to say, for that comment (usually if you pirate a game you can't play online at all, but if someone lets you use their steam account it could make things easier for a lot of people) ---- you could play every pirate game online !! |
