Seems to be living up to its name.

Just picked it up last night, and we have been having a great time with it. The graphics are vastly improved over VC, and being able to customize your dude is lots of fun.

Biggest bitch so far is the camera angles, which sometimes manages to find the worst possible angle.

This has to be the best so far in the series, I loved GTAIII, it WAS the best game I had ever played but there were many close to it like GoldnEye and other but after loading up San Andreas I was blown away. Don't get me wrong I loved Vice City but I felt it only equal to GTAIII, this one is so much more advanced then Vice City, you can do anything!! I got the game yesterday at 7:01pm (thats when the EB was allowed to sell it) and I played right through till 2:30am!! The time just flew, and I must say I found the best thing in the last GTA's were the missions but in this game I haven't even begun to crack the missions, the ones I have played are really fun but what is taking all my time is the character customization!! I got my Carl up to full muscle and full stamina last night and now his "sex appeal" is up to half, ladies make comments as I walk down the street cause I am huge! I put a bad ass afro and beard on him, a black wife beater with dog tags, green track pants (to represent Grove WHAT!!) and white high tops! Tattoed his back with a "WEST SIDE" and his arm with a "R.I.P" cross! He looks so sick! I haven't even began to crack the surface, the next thing I think I am going to do is take him for a swim, build up my lung capacity. I thought the other GTAs were addictive but nothing prepared me for this one, it truely is the best game the PS2 has to offer! Well I am going back to "bust up some marks"! Later

P.S. I have to say I thought the other GTA games were pretty tame in violence and language, I felt that it was really all up to the player what they did and you didn't HAVE to "get a prostitue in a car and then beat her after she did her job" like all the congress people were bitching the game was about, but this game is totally different. So far it is about the same amount of violence as GTA Vice City but the language has been taken to another level! If you are a youngster and your parents are the type to not let you play a game if they see something bad, well then never and I repeat NEVER play this with them in the room, EVERY and I repeat EVERY second word is the "F---" word and there are alot of racial slurs towards blacks, you know the one I mean! The music is also not censored and if you have seen the last trailer you know what you are in for. So just a little heads up to anyones parents who are strict about language.

MAN! IGN gave it a score of 9.9 WTF!?!?! it must be pretty good although not my kind of game but still ill rent it :P

pfffttt yeah ok buddy...gta break the record, i'm thinking HL2 will, its far more advanced than any gta game will ever be, hell!! than any ps2 game will ever be..

SprigganX if you didn't even play the game dont say shit. Finally a game with Blacks. Not letting kids play games is so pathetic. Im playing GTA since i was 11. I got GTA and a Great Hits game for 5$. I hope the new GTA if it ever comes had a multiplayer.

You say it is the same thing over and over again, but let me fill you in on somthing, you ever play a FPS? They are all the same, basically you go around shooting stuff but what seperates them is the STORY and all 3 GTA stories are extremely different!

I can't guarntee you that Grand Theft Auto will beat the crap off of Half Life 2 in sales, there are 50 Million PS2's out there and if one fifth of those people buy GTA:SA, Half Life 2 would not be able to compete (oh and those estimates aren't to far off compared to the last 2 entries into the series). As for your comments on "advanced" well let me tell you that GRAPHICS are not everything in a game, do you know how many CRAPPY games with amazing graphics have come out, and then how many games with good graphic that are actually good, not as much as the bad thats for sure, so that shows you that graphics don't make a game! As you can tell on www.gamerankings.com the last 3 gta's have scored either equal or HIGHER then half life 1 and 2, and thats an amazing feat, lets see the half life series come out with 3 games all scoring 94% or higher, the GTA series is the "Lord Of The Rings" of gaming!\
