ANYWAY.....

This game is some seriously good stuff! Rockstar has gone over the top again.

If you think this is just another churned out sequel to take advantage of a successful franchise, think again. They have broken some real new ground here and have expanded significantly on their concept.

One of the biggest problems I have had with open games, like GTA3, is that sometimes I just wasn't sure what to do. Rockstar has solved that, and did it so well that it took me a while to even realize it. Things are now constantly demanding your attention, and they are FUN!

Here's a list of new things I have found so far. (If I repeat some things in the old games, don't shoot, it's been a while since I played em! )

Pimp missions - yes, you can now pimp prostitutes, which means delivering and picking them up, and beating down Johns that do your girls wrong.
Customizing your avatar - If you've played Def Jam 2, then you will see some very similar stuff here.
Customizing your ride - paint jobs, hydraulics, stereos and a host of other cosmetic and performance options.
Bicycles - Sounds dumb, right? Wrong. These things are fun! Plus, there are half-pipes all over the place to play with!
Girlfriend - Yup, now you have to keep your bitch happy.. take her to the bar on a date and you get a great cutscene of you and your girl drinkin 40s, complete with sappy music.

And the absolute best innovation of all.. gang wars. This is an absolutely genius mechanism and has replaced my favorite time-waster in the previous games of the series (running from cops! ).

You can put together a group of your gang to cruise around with you. They will bitch if you wreck into something, and lean out the window to shoot at passing gang members. But best of all, take them cruising in a rival gang's turf looking for groups of them to be hanging out. Bail from your ride and gun them down and you go into gang war mode. Survive 3 waves of gangbangers (not really an easy task) and that 'hood is yours. The more hoods you control, the bigger your income. Of course, rival gangs will do the same thing to your hoods, so if you get an alert that a turf is under attack, you better haul ass there!

And lastly... pretty much any skill short of walking is rated. As your driving skill increases, cars respond better. shoot pistols a lot, and you get better with them. Same with SMGs and machine pistols, combat shotguns, sawed off shotguns... etc.

This really happened to my son while he was playing...
He spent a few hours pimping to accumulate a lot of cash, then went to the detail shop with his lowrider and blew the whole wad tricking out his car. He calls me over to see it as he pulls out of the shop and turns drives through an intersection when BAM! this car blows a red light and T-bones him, flipping and catching his new car on fire less than 30 seconds out of the shop!

BTW.. the reason the car ran a red was because it was some gang-bangers running from the police, who were in hot pursuit.

f**k the ps2! they took away one of the best franchises from the pc.now we gotta wait a whole year for gta games to come out on pc while evry1 els has it.i say it was born on the pc and thats where it belongs.u dont see the pc ripping off gran trismo from the ps2....i mean cmon some games are just meant for the pc......

The gang-wars feature was indeed great... one of the best features in the game... but you lose the ability after about 5 missions
