the forums have been F'd up lately i can't figure it out. anyways i made this topic and here's what it should've said:

i'm sorry this is another hl2 thread but this is important. i've been fooled for quite some time now and am glad i stumbled upon this info.

what that says is that when you buy HL2 retail, you don't get DoD:S and the only way to get DOD:S is the steam packages of silver or gold. so make sure if you wanted DOD:S that you get it off steam silver cuz gold is a ripoff. stupid ass valve is so greedy i put a $5 deposite at gamestop to reserve my HL2 BEFORE these different "packages" were even told of. so i'm gonna go argue them to try and get my $5 back cuz this is BS.

well aside from the odd creation of this topic, does anyone have anything to say about the subject? i'm pissed because valve doesn't even make it clear to everyone that you can only get DOD:S through the steam packages. this means i won't be buying retail (but i wanted to because i wanted the box and wanted it on CD/DVD).

yah well, actually Valve never said that DOD would be in the Retailpackage. Just HL2, CS:S or HL2, CS:S and HL:S for the uber-mega-special-edition-dvd-retailpackage.
So you could figure that out. They don't need to say: "Watch out guys, DoD isn't avilaible in any retail-package". :/
so therefore... it's your own fault. they never promised anything.

btw. the retail package doens't have a handbook inside. :/

valve is greedy? what you think they should give away thier games as shareware or what? thier a business just like any other.....they like money!! :thumbup:

explain limited MP? hell look at doom 3 retail MP map selection, are they greedy too? I hate to break it too alot guys here but most peole i think are intrested in half life 2 single player not MP, all the years of work went into the single player aspect of the game...
