Just a noob question....ive got DX9.0c and geforce 6800GT, how do i enable HDR?
When Farcry is Running, open the Console By pressing the key next to the 1 and above the tab (not sure what the correct name is).

Then in the console type \R_HDRRENDERING 7 (or any value instead of 7 but it must be below 7, i think.

The wet effect on the bump-mapping is specular highlighting... I quite like it on most objects, however I wish it wasn't so bright white... They could at least blend it with the ambient lighting... or diffuse it a little.

I take it the X-Box version of Far Cry will have OpenEXR HDR as default, supposing at least the GPU can handle the fill-rate. I saw some screenshots when it was first announced for consoles and it definetly looked like it had HDR enabled...

Another point, Do Crytek have any plans to develop an ATI compatible HDR format? OpenHXR is 16-bit, so will ATI users get a 24-bit version?

HDR enabled FarCry is a must see for everyone.Crytek people did a really good job with 1.3 patch.
now they got some little more things to do and they are done with it.

First enabling HDR for ATi Card(as seen in source technology movie).
Scnd Enabling HDR+AA(probably with the next nVIDIA Core,I doubt it if they can do it on current 68xx series)
Finally the long awaited A64 patch.(this one needs MS to finalize the Win64 OS though).

OFFTOPIC:By the way im still trying to digest the fact that
they have dropped Hydra from HL2s final release.

hope you like it, HDR gives a good image quality and realism to Far Cry
but still, you need a GeForce 6800- or 6600-series, i hope they work out something for ATI
