Strategies folks!

What's your favorite dual wield combination?

SMG plasma pistol. keep that plasma shot charged and nail someone with shields, smg takes the rest down in about a second, literally

Double needlers is pretty impressive... just for the sheer power. My fav is either needler-smg, or plasma rifle-smg, or double smg. There's something about the smg... It just feels 'right'.

The double SMG has it's appeal, but the recoil is too much for me. I keep finding myself with at least one plasma rifle in-hand.

Too bad you can't dual wield the swords

I like smg in right hand magnum in left...

the pistol in halo 2 has lost most of its power

butr the pistol is muxch more balanced now... it used to be so good it was much better than all the other weapobns. also ifd uyou aim for the heafd it's still amazing..

Things I've found for multiplayer:
As pistol was by far the best mid ranged gun in halo1, it no longer is for Halo 2 due to lack of strength and more importantly, the lack of the zooming feature. On any map (such as Coagulation) when you think you'll be needing a mid ranged gun, the battle rifle, I've found, is the pistol's new replacement. It's just about the only gun that can zoom to a decent level and still not suck much. I find its weakness to be frusterating though as it takes about 4-5 direct hits to the head (full shields) to kill somone. 3 shots per trigger pull and thats 12-15 bullets per kill. Really not ammo efficient by any means, but it will do.

long ranged=human sniper (covanent beam I am not a fan of. Overheat takes a lot of getting used to), rocket launcher in some cases.
short: shotgun, SMG(as long as it is dual wielded with something capable of doing a lot of damage/taking down shields fast), and possibly the brute shot.
Any other preferances?

PS: In most cases, I would avoid the lock on thing for the rocket launcher. It is very easily dodged. Stick to the old method of shooting where your enemy is moving towards.
