It looked so good 2 months ago!

Doom 3, Halo 2, Half Life 2... all set to come out this year. It shoulda been the biggest year gaming has ever had.
I feel robbed!

Doom 3: a $50, 8 hour tech demo with no multiplayer content! WTF!?

Halo 2: a horrid, crappy single player campaign. Supposedly XBOX live is pretty fun with it, but I could care less. I don't have Xbox live, and I am not going to get it.

And then, to really add insult to injury, we get HL2. A AAA title that requires spyware to run, has serious multiplayer issues, and less than 20 hours single player!

This sux!!

At least Rockstar delivered with GTA: SA, and hopefully the Sid Meier's Pirates! remake lives up to the original. And my beloved Oleg Maddox delivered yet another beautiful game with Pacific Fighters.

Now all we need is the surprise release of a crappy Duke Nukem Forever to complete the year of FPS mediocrity. Anybody else thinking that FPS games have passed their prime?

Looks like u are really pissed off....
But after playing Doom 3 and Halo 2 I say it were worth all this wait.... HL 2 no doubt it would be gr8...

On the other half I was little dissopointed with GTA:SA coz it did not had any graphical Improvement.. But the game was the best GTA game ever.

disagree, to me this has possibly been the best year for gaming in a LONG time.
1) far cry
- one of the first games that tried the "open-ended" fps genre

2) doom 3
- techdemo .. yes, but look at it from a historical point of view, doom3 will help dictate how games will look for the next 5 years. if you bought doom3 thinking it would be breaking new ground from a gameplay perspective you were being foolish

3) half life 2
- don't agree with your comment about spyware at all, i think the game in general is excellent and really pushes the envelope when it comes to character identification and emotion. HL2 raised the bar in terms of storytelling and environments.

4) world of warcraft
- evolutionary MMPOG, very polished and will probably be the first MMPOG that a lot of 'casual' people will try

5) call of duty and expansions
- just plain fun

6) sims2
- the sequel to possibly the best selling PC game of all time, games for the masses. Not really my cup of tea but from what I read it has been very well received by people and you can expect it to be on the top 10 game selling list for the next 2 years. probably longer than any of the titles I mentioned above.

All in all 2004 has been a fabulous year for gaming.

Pacific Fighters!

Half Life 2 doesn't even have a good story. that's why i play all the good ol adventure games.

And that's my point... when somebody makes a game with the Doom3 engine, we MIGHT see a good game. It ain't happened yet.

If I have another program running in the background that lets somebody else know when I am using a certain piece of software, that is spyware.
