Half Life 2 Story BACKGROUND

I'm about halfway through HL2, and while the story makes sense, it seems to me like I should know more about it. I never went through the entire HL1 single player, only played it for like 2 hours total. So can someone please summarize for me the plot of Half Life 1? It'd help me out quite a bit. And please make it good, not just like "aliens attack that place and eveeryone starts dying aexapt gordonfremman2!!"

Maybe include names of people (dr. kliner etc) in there too so i can see what connection that have to the HL2 story line.

kliener was the hurt doc in the begining I think. I know that Eli Vance(the black doc) helped you out in the VERY begining of HL1. right after the accident in HL1, u go back up the elevator.. and Eli Vance was the guy that helped you through that 1 door.. he used the optical scanner.

Dr Breen was the administator at Black Mesa at the time of the incident.

Dr. Breen is the head of City 17 that lives in the Citadel correct? The guy who sees you in your first attempt to teleport early in the game who says "I could've sworn it was ::turns around:: Gordon Freeman..."?

That scene is what got me wondering what happened in the original story

my favourite subject... the story is incomplete, they dont explain anything , you wont find out anything from the game , in the end you are even more puzzled thaen when you started , playing both games wont clear a thing , only hl3 can do that , just constinue to shoot everyone....

Only thing i can add to what Septh told is that you meet the misirious Gman at the end off HL telling something like your in his control/doing something for him, can't excectly remember(bine bout 2years ago since i last completet it)
Anyway further on in HL2 it'll make some sence(it's still not really clear, that's probebly planned for HL3)

Absolutely don't agree to that, the story is unclear and complicatet, but it's a verry good story

its me again with an attempt to explain. Here goes : in the first one you open a portal through 2 worlds and let some nasty aliens in , the you fight a lot , go to their world , kill some more , kill the big monster at the end , the g-man "hires" you , the end...
In hl2 , as you know , you wake up in a train , kill some enemies , find more people from black mesa that survived (barney the security guy , eli vance and doc kleiner , doc breem is the boss now and runs the citadel , and the g-man , god knows what his story is , i guess youll have to wait for hl3 for that... :rant: :rant: :rant:

the g-man obviously can travel through time and he sends you through time as well(maybe to save the human race) remember Eli Vance in black mesa east:"well gordon you haven't changed a bit, how you do that"hmmm....and how the hell does gordon just end up on a train(because g-man put him there)remember dude at the begining on train:"oh! i didn't see you get on".........right? you following me..never the less part 3 will hopefully clear some things up beacause i am as confused as everyone else....

The story might be unclear for the next 43234years but as it stands now it can't sux...because there isn't any.
