There has been alot of confusing over the topic of Half-life 2. To many the plot seemed either very confusing, or there was none. Also, it seemed they left all questions unanswered, including many questions about who or what the g-man is. I have some answeres, or theories, that i can share, and i was also hoping that there might be others who could give me some information. If you have any questions, i can try to answer them as well.

I have a theory and i was wondering if anyone was thinking the same thing. I believe that all of half life 2 is actually just a simulation in which the G-man has recorded you doing. He will now show this recording to customers who may employ your services to save their planet etc. I know it's a big assumption but i've back it up with two major ideas. 1) at the end of hl2 (if you haven't beaten it you should probly stop reading) after everything goes slowmo the g-man says "i believe all this will make sense to you in...well...i'm not in liberty to say."
i believe he is inferring that it was a simulation, yet he is not able to tell you under orders from his 'unknown masters'. (valve won't say who he works for yet.) 2) hl1 ended in a train, if i'm not mistaken, and hl2 began in a train. So i believe no time has passed. Freeman entered that train, and began a simulation, then at the end of hl2 g-man says "well, this is my stop." and he leaves out of the darkness what is made out as a train door. So that is when the simulation is now over. i would like some input on opinions with this theory. I know it's far'fetched but it just may be true. I would like to knwo if anybody else believes so... |

dude, it makes train noises like a train slowing down, then that sound when a train door opens. and he says like and now i get off or something. just play the end again. It makes perfect sense. THere's no denying that its a train at the end.

you can i think, just load the one right before the credits. I've done it before because i was just as bewildered and confused as you at knowing the end had (sadly) come. Also the craziness that time had just basically stopped and the g-man appeared out of know where.
