How come that when i think about my favourite games they are allways the old ones ? project igi , carmageddon
2 , r.t.c.wolfenstein , iwo jima. These are the first games i played when i got my pc. I would gladly pick up the tesla gun from r.t.c.w. and start killing soldiers or splatter zombies with the eagle .Is it maybe nostalgia ? When i now look at the carmageddon graphics , compared to nfsu2 , one thing comes to my mind "why did i reinstall this ? nfsu2 is much better in every way or even gta...". Even after playing the grand titles of the year , i would prefer replaying project igi rather than farcry...Does intense gaming for a long period of time make you num ? |

naa, I think it's just because the graphics were only that good back then the games had to have more gameplay/fun.
old games had charme and chars with personality...what is missing in most games nowadays...most chars we got today don't even have any deep personality... Even the helmets in Bomberman had more charme than the latest gunswinger. :dennis: |

Games are weird in that sort of way...I've gamed for several months straight and then all the sudden I wake up one day and my games are all boring. Then after a month or so of no gaming I start playing again and its like holy crap, THIS IS FUN!!!! And the pattern just repeats.

It's more to do with psychology. I've found as I've gotten older that I no longer care about what games are coming out or when they are coming. Your priorities change. You remember older games because games years ago were still evolving, they were fresh in the making. It's like the first time you ate something that was really nice, you always remember it and where and when. The game itself may not be better in standard compared to modern titles, but the sentimental value attached to the older game will always avoke fonder memories. It's called getting OLD. I still remember playing FF7 all those years back like it were last week, and I even remember what I ate that night too when I first put it on. Same with Zombies Ate My Neighbours on the SNES...I could go on and on. There's too much of a flood of carbon copies these days.

or just playing Monkey Island and stuck at a puzzle for days/weeks/months and finally solve it....Jeez, you could have smake yourself but on the other hand you were proud that you did it all by yourself...same with the backward poetry in SpellCast 102....took us 2 years till finally a friend called me up one day and said: I DID IT!
