The ending didn't tell you much, but I liked it. I would have liked to know a little more about some things, like what the combine are, but I'm sure I'll find out eventually, and I actually prefer not knowing some things about what is going on. If I knew where the combine were from, why they came, how they took over, and how Breen took power, the experience just wouldn't be as good. They need time to introduce all that information to the player, too, so they either could have slowly let you learn everything throughout the game, which would cause problems in a sequel with nothing left to tell, or they could've had someone at the end tell you everything, which would've been cheap and easy. The ending was good, just maybe not what you were hoping for. You said graphics aren't the most important part of a game. I agree, the gameplay and sometimes the story are much more important. Graphics just enhance your experience with the gameplay. Then, with no real transition, you said Half-Life 2's graphics suck and Doom 3's were superior. First of all, if graphics don't make the game, who cares? Why do you bring this up? Personally, I think Half-Life 2 had a better graphics engine, but both games looked amazing. Doom 3 was all about lighting and putting plenty of detail in a small place. This leads to some very nice looking areas, but from what I've seen it can't do large outdoor areas. Half-Life 2 looks better, in my opinion. Everything is realistic and doesn't look as plasticy as in Doom. Facial animation and lip-syncing. I don't need to say anymore about that, if you've seen it you know. Plus the game can actually render large areas and plays good in multiplayer even when you have more than 4 people in a game, something Doom 3 can't keep up with. I played both games through and thought they were both great, but Half-Life 2 looked slightly better to me.

Stop critisizing yall men! there isn't any forum where you don't critisize each others!! calm down please...you don't stop speaking "huh this one is 14, no this one is 15 :nxs: " but ok you know what i mean. 2nd) being a noob here doesn't mean you're a noob really ok?
I'm 16, now if i say something wrong you wont say anything to me because that don't bring you nothing. ( xcuse my poor english i'm french, it's quite a challenge for me ...)To speak about the thread....HL² is a very good game. Graphics are great but not awesome, the story is a bit mysterious that gives something intersting i think; but, the game isn't as good as the earliest videos seemed to be. But it's not a shame!! The only point i reproach is the number of weapons. i wish we could have a sniper, a flaregun, and a OICW. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- My games are running on: P4 northwod 2.80Ghz HT Geforce 6800 GT 256MB @ 375/1100 1 Go Ram dual channels ddr400 pc3200 Sony SDM-HS73 17" TFT
