dotpitch doesnt mean THAT much, its just a number that companies like to flash around to attract their product. The monitor Im on now has a .21 dotpitch, and a lot of the stuff still looks like crap.

nah dude it's not a number that they flash around, the dot pitch is true number but some companies like to measure "differently" than others. if you have a .21 monitor and it looks like crap than you have either a crappy monitor with a good dot pitch or a good monitor with a crappy video card.

if you have a .21 without enhancements than yeah it won't look as good as say a Sony trinitron but if you have a flat display CRT with picture enhancing technology at .20dpi than you have a stunning monitor.

your, right I have a crappy monitor. It was a cheapo, and at the time I just needed any monitor so I could build my comp. Its an AOC 19" Pure flat(even though I dont think it actually is), but I have a radeon 9800 pro.

So which should I get, that Samsung that one guy said, or the NEC like I had planned?

to be honest either will do the job and do it well. i haven't had a chance to play with them so i can't honestly say which is better but going on reviews either are great for gaming but the NEC is horrid for text display, so i can't even consider it because i work online

it's really up to you, worst comes to worst you just RMA it and get the other

because you're using the cheap ones. I play mad many text adventures and the new models are exellent in picture quality.

Hey all.
I bought my 6800GT in august and my sony sdm-HS73 17" tft in last december, i've got screen quality, great video card and my god what a pleasure to play doom3 with dynamic lighting and shadowing.............

But ok i cost me a lot....550 â‚¬ that make euh.....600 us $ approx, and my 6800gt for 399 $ (460â‚¬) ...

A friend has got a amd 64 3800+; 1Go of ddr400 samsung, 180Go serial ata, a sound blaster (don't know the name) 7.1 and an LG monitor tft...........but for a price of approx. 2000â‚¬.....quality perhaps but not at this price

ok this is killing me. I am a little worried about the high dotpitch of the NEC, but for some reason, I just dont like the look of the samsung. The monitor Im on now has pretty bad text, so I want good text, and also very good colors for games and such. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO DECIDE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
