I opened half-life 2 box and i installed all 5 discs. Then it asked me for the cdkey I went to the back of the 1st envelope and typed it in but it wont accept it mine is like 33 or 44 or 48 letters and or numbers long is mine right? what should I do?

I can't really tell you anything. I got the dvd version. I don't know what is the matter. Your best bet is that you may have put in the key incorrectly or you were looking at the wrong code.

are there keygens out already? I didn't here of any. So that wasn't one of my assumed reasons the key might not have worked.
If that is the reason DO NOT go get one. Just do as DoInThis4Fun said and exchange it.

perheps mistaken the o (ooooh) for a 0 (zero). there many more of those mistakes that can be made when typing.

with over 60% of hl2 copies returned at one of the mayor game store you can bet that there are some used keys floating around

only the top line of the key should be typed the second line means nothing.
should look like XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXX (then some scrambled letters and numbers on line 2 like) XXXXXXXXXXXXX halflife2 don't type in the jumbled letters at the bottom TGE
