I am looking at signing up for a MMORPG quite soon, but I could do with some advice?
I want to play a popular European based MMORPG that has inspiring DirectX9.0 graphics, i.e. maximum use of PS2.0, etc, but it 'must' also have detailed player models and a FPS style control interface. Gameplay wise I would like something like Morrowind OR Freelancer... but not too bothered...
Anyone point me in the right direction?

Everquest 2 is probably the MMORPG with the best graphics but WoW has the better gameplay. I'm not sure what EQ2 gameplay is like as i haven't played it but if you want good gameplay go with WoW.

I have played EQ2 but not WOW, EQ2 does have AMAZING graphics for an mmorpg, but th gameplay is too repetitive. From what Ive read WOW is overall the better choice ;).

Been out and got myself a copy of World of Warcraft... I will playtest over the next week and the gameshop bloke said it was a great game and I should buy it instead of EQII, which I had in my hand at the time. He was so sure of it he has promised me he will eat his own hat (might of been cat) but he sounded like a bit of a stoner tbh....
Will install it tonight! Thanks for the input guys!

i've been hooked on WoW since i got it about.. 2-3 weeks after release. i've literally stopped coming to GH, stopped playing HL2, everything. i work, go to class, and play wow. lol get it, it's awesome. also you might say the GFX for EQ2 are better, which yes they are. but the whole WoW theme is kinda a "semi-cartoony" look with awesome gameplay and even though the GFX aren't the best, they are still REALLY GOOD. it's great you'd like it.

WoW is a great MMORPG for the "casual" gamer or people who are new to MMORPGs. From what i've heard it's got something for everyone, but the trade off is that some of the aspects that "hardcore" veterans desire are either toned down or missing completely. I'll be giving it a whirl myself some time next week, since i've been "forced" to take a break from Shadowbane anyway........
