So GTR is coming out next week eh? After waiting so long and fending off so many smug Germans online already, I was wonderin how many here were as SO DAMND EXCITED about the release next week as I am? :francesco:
This game is THE reason I bought my MOMO wheel and pedals, and not a new car!! I've got a Ferrari now, who cares about the 0% finance Mr Honda-man!
(Also, very nice GTR screensaver!)

You mean the head turny thingy? Hehe, no, so I guess Im not as excited as that! Apparently it works really well, but I could never understand it. If you turn your head it moves the camera, but then your not looking at the screen anymore!..unless you try and see it from the corner of your eye!
Check out the videos here Ultimate sim immersion to see what crazy people do in their spare time! :Oo:

nonono, look: you set the sensetivity. so you move your head slightly to the right and it moves the cam further as you set it. I got it for IL-2 Sturmovik but it works great for GTR. In fact I wouldn't want to play any flight sims or racing games without it. TrackIR 3-Pro cost 130 bucks but it's a one time investment. I would go for it.
if you don't like it you can still return it...I think, dunno where you from.
PS: GTR has an ingame updater where you can download new tracks and events for FREE. That's how it should be. Not like codemasters who sells an updated version as a sequell for full price.

Hmm, yu got me interested now! :P Does it work as a webcam as well? Still think it'll be wierd using tiny head movements for big on-screen changes, especially as the steering wheel will never feel as though its in a constant position. And after playing for a few hours, you'll try and look behind you in the real world, but end up looking slightly to the left!
But I guess its the next best thing to having 3 large plasma screens wrapped around you! And a force dynamics machine! Gonna see if I can get a head turny thingy here in the UK. (Hmm 70 quid..)
And yea if they do manage regular updates, this game will be the fruity teahat! I hope the DBR9 makes it into one of them! I heard they're already workin on GTR2 tho, so there wont be many season updates i guess...

it's not a cam. it's like an infrared sensor. actually I showed it a bunch of people already and everyone got it later and is very pleased with it.
Better than sex? yes...well, no. But it's not any disturbing or annoying. in fact it feels quiet natural, just the way it meant to be.
check out the product (I should get paid for this -.-')
Well, GTR got very good mod support...at least they say it does :P

Hehe, if you get one for me, Ill give you commission! (Gimme 0% finance tho..)
SimBin did the GTR mod for F1 Challenge didnt they, so its good for us that they're pretty cosy on that side of things! The amount of community support for games like F1C and Richard Burns Rally (amazing game..) has been awesome, and there are just as many people if not more following GTR. The demo got to the top of the downloads list here, so I hope I get to race (and annihilate) some of you!

Yea true, im still impressed with the visuals tho, the first thing I thought when I saw the screenies last year was, whoa those 3D alloys are soo cool! Especially from the wheel view camera angle! But I think they're using a tweaked version of the old ISI engine from F1C. So they're pretty good results considering, plus this is their first game and with a limited budget. Its impressive that they got FIA backing too. Guess they know some people who know some people!
GTR2 is probably gonna use the new ISI engine used in rFactor, with the dx9 shaders, and real time lighting, shadows, bloom etc. That's gonna look sweeet ass. But by then there'll probably be summut better again!
Getting tips from the F1 in Melbourne going on at the moment. They're not allowed to change tires any more!? Either the finish is gonna be tight or they're all gonna crash! B)

F1 is getting dumber and dumber. when they started the tracktion controll thingy
so the all beloved Michael Schusucker gets his right for havong one build in when it was forbidden.
I don't think you need to know someone to get the FIA support. afterall it had already great fanbase before there was any moving pictures
and the community is one of the most picky ones. It's the cheapest way of advertising for FIA. You can have the licenes and therefor you spam the tracks with our Logo
I doubt that GTR2 will hit the shelves anytime soom. maybe not for the next 2 years. But I'm quiet positive that the support for GTR is/will be great sinse it's a from fan for fans product...or is it? DUMDUMDUUUMMMmmm
