Hi,

haven't had a chance to download & play this yet - anyone tried it, if so what do you think? From some of the reviews I've seen of the Xobx version I'm not to enthusiastic! e.g. http://www.zengamer.com/review.php?revid=42

Cheers & ket me know,

Motto....

I have just played the demo and well, this game looks similar to Blade of darkness.

The graphics are good with a lot of textures in a scene.
Gameplay is average . But its enjoyable so i recommended it.

What about the combat system? If the combat system is anything like BoD, this game is a must buy for me.

I just finished the demo, which has two playable characters. You have the regular knight, who can use swords, axes etc, along with shields, armor and such. The combat system works a lot like Rune, even though you can't do especially advanced movies, like decapitation. The second character is an assassin, who uses ranged weapons, and a dagger. The level was mainly indoors, so using the ranged attacks was difficult. The assassin especially, can take a lot of damage, which is good, because you'll often end up fighting melee with your dagger.

The full game supposedly has a lot more characters and 25+ levels, so there should be some fun to be had. Even though the graphics are really nice the main problem is in the gameplay, which is pretty basic, and will most likely get boring after a while.

Damn. I was really hoping for a new game with some serious melee action. Hack'n'slash gets old fast if that's all you can do.

I've played it on XB. Looks good, and plays well too, but you'll get bored of it long before you should do due to the lack of a mid-game save feature (unless they amended this for PC). The latter levels get insanely hard and the only way you'll get thru them is by using the archer and her sniper-arrows to take out baddies before they reach you. It really is insanely hard.

Also, the inventory system isn't as good as you might expect. As you go thru the levels you can collect bags of gold lying around/from dead foes, which allow you to buy extra equipment at the end of the level. Basically, the equipment is the same every time, there's never anything really special or different for you to buy each time you replay the game......and if you DON'T buy the equipment you haven't got a chance of getting thru.

If there's a quick-save feature I reckon it's worth getting (there are lots of levels to do) but otherwise don't bother, unless you wanna cheat (which just takes all the fun out of it).

Rune was way better.
