I got the game idea for the future: Imaging you hitting a key on the
key board or a button on the mouse. The character on screen will do as what the button/key was assigned to. WOAAAA...that would be sooo 1337 man ![]()

Man, I was just watching the highlights from the Monaco GP, and if they could make an F1 game with all the guts and glory of todays race.... *orgasm* :francesco:
Not really got high hopes for Sony's effort for some reason based on the E3 vid and their track record (no pun intended)! I mean the sound was fairly good i guess. But it'd have to be something with that hardcore-ness of say GTR (you know i love that game, hehe) combined with that [promised] next-gen level of detail and immersion in the environments and capture that orgasmic audio quality (thats 2 orgasms!) they would be able to sell millions! Whadyu reckon? Oh and it'd have to be on PC so I can use my MOMO! *quits degree to try and become F1 driver overnight* |

I think a HUGE super realistic war game where it actually maps the WHOLE WORLD would rock. Imagine you actually get to choose to either be the owner of a certain country, or something, and you get control of Nukes and the army resources, or you can be a pilot, sub commander, ship captain, ground troop, tank commander etc. I think that would rock. Cause then I could send all my nukes to Kami's house :P, and wipe that
off his face. XD |

Well, I'm kind of prolific in my game ideas, so I won't bore you all with the lot. I make a few nice ones, but none of my good ones are finished yet (they're all retro anyway, so I suppose they don't count, considering the topic of discussion.)
I've decided to quit waiting around for someone else to do it for me, so I'll be spending the next 8 or 12 years in Uni :P to get some games technology degrees and such, then see where I go as a Games Designer for real. Anyone ever heard of *the masterpiece* that was Star Control II? Well, I'd like to expand upon it. Picture yourself in command of a Capital ship - fully designed, where you can walk around FP style, with the crew (that you can hand pick) going about their alloted shifts. Then imagine the fact that you are a warlord - either through dreams of power, or out of a moral obligation to bring peace to the galaxy. Picture the ability to build a fleet - the ships would be designed to your own specifications, via 'template' components - and do battle with other powerful factions. Picture the ability to descend into orbit around a planet, strangle their trade, strategically map out their major cities, plan your ground assault, and command, RTS style, as your marine armies, decked out with tanks and walkers, lay seige to vast cities, bringing the planet to it's knees. Picture the ability to control the output of the planet, as it applies to your fleet, Imperium Galactica style. I think my favourite idea for this game would be the space battles. An opposing faction's fleet meets yours above the worlds of their systems. The vessels come alongside each other, stop, then engage in massive broadside battles, with torpedoes and deck gun fire lancing between ships as fighters and bombers zoom about. Picture walking down a corridor of your capital ship, only to have the hull crushed in as a marine boarding party smashes it's way past your defenses. You take out your service pistol and duck into a side-room, giving the order for your own marines to report to your position. A raging battle is carried out, as you flush the enemy towards defensive positions, sealing off decks with blast doors you place yourself in the design stages. All this goes one while the vessels around you blast themselves into oblivion! Obviously, you can't be everywhere, but thats part of the tension, as you need to hand-pick and promote the officers you believe would be best for their positions. Basically, its a FPS meets an RTS meets Rome: Total War meets Nexus meets - and this is very important - Sims 2. I say SIms 2 because of the customisation. Those lads have developed ways to create fully-realised 3d models and structures with CODE, rather than models. Read up on SPORE if you don't get me. I want the ships to have their own unique designs, and give the player customisation over everyhting, including the weapons and armour their infantry go to war with. Thats my thought anyway... I'm making a 'scaled down' version (read- 2d RETRO) as a software assignment this year. |

Your gonna do that all by yourself?
If not, get some people to help you out. Otherwise it's gonna take forever. Good luck. ;)
