With E3 over, and new possibilities for games arising, I was lying in my bed thinking of all the cool games that might be in the future...

I came up with some ideas, be they slightly sadistic! Out of all the FPSs I've played there have been a few very realistic ones, but none of them have had ultra-realistic death sequences! Enemies usually just fly off when you shoot them with a shotgun for example. I heard that Soldier of Fortune tried something similar to what Im suggesting but Ive never played it..

IDEA:
With a combination of ragdoll and some complex scripting, you could have such realism as giving realistic fatal injuries if you dont hit them in the right place. The enemy would be thrown back by the impact of a gun, but they would half stagger backwards until they fall over or hit a wall, crumple down that wall or lie there fatally injured but not dead...yet. You can still see them breathing and they look at you, but they've dropped their gun or they're just too injured to fight back. You then have the choice to either finish them off or leave them to bleed to death.
Alternatively, if you blew their hand off, they'd be thrown back a bit, start screaming, but might fight back a bit..
I was imagining this type of thing in multiple enemy battles with cool results. Would obviously be a lot less arcadey, and would probably go straight to a certificate 18 or something! (or X when in-game characters started begging for their lives!)

Basically, its a bit like using ragdoll magnets, but a bit more complex..

What does everyone think? Has anyone else come up with realistic ideas that could be implemented into future games? I remember one guy here before (sry cant remember who you were!) who came up with an idea for a silent hill/fps in a huge multiplayer world, but where you wont necessarily meet anyone for ages, and the tension would really build up. He explained it better, but I thought that was a really cool idea! GH also had a thread before where people were inventing new ideas for creative stories within games.

Perhaps there could even be a 'Future Gaming Ideas' section or subsection (that maybe even developers would easily browse!). Just an idea, admins? With the Gaming Art Section I've no doubt there are some creative people who browse this forum, and I reckon it would be a pretty cool feature for the whole gaming community to have. I would like a multiplayer game in wich every player is an animal. Your goal is to hunt your specific prey. When you gained enough "karma points" (or whatever lol) you can advance to an other animal that is higher on the food chain.

Could be fun Altho, you'd always have that T-Rex that's been playing non-stop running around chomping on everything!

LOL, didn't SEGA wanted to make a game like that back then for DC?

I wanna game that is not really new but rather merged together. Sorta IL2 Sturmovik + SilentHunter + Hidden&Dangerous + all the other goods.
just a real war game where when you fly in your plane and look down and see a bunch of soldiers on the ground fighting, they are actual players.
Think of BattleField but with the quality of the certain area of combat of the above mentioned titles. I mean when your plane crash you the pilot
can still jump out and fight on the ground. Or just having a good ol SeaWolf battle against destroyers. where a bunch of people operating the sub
and another the destroyer. i would even accept to have to buy 3 or 4 different games that can be hooked together to get it...like Silent Hunter 2
did with Destroyer.

Oh yeah, I wanna have lots of violence and i want a WW2 game where you can play as the germans...tired of always being on the allied side.
I want another WingCommander that has the action of StarLancer and the graphics of todays technology. In fact I want a game based on SPACE: Above and Beyond...

It's called World War 2 Online. It's been out for 2 years now :P

Yea, I tried a trial for WW2Online. Its got a lot of bits of what you wanted, but definitely not on the level of IL2 and such!

I want a massive RPG set in the wild west, with the freedom of play to be able to rob banks, trains... or get a posse together and chase down bankrobbers.

Maybe become sheriff of a town and clean it up, and of course, you have to have the showdown at high noon part in there too.

Or it could be done GTA style. Steal horses and run from the posse, etc.

No, WW2 Online is crap. But it's pretty close to the idea of what I want. I mean imagin you play IL2 and i play HnD and Choup plays Tank Commander:
Hooked together you get the full quality of IL2 in the sky and can hunt us while I run around like in HnD next to Choup who drives the Tank to cover me,
in all the tank blast that Tank Commander was(I think it was Tank Commander...the tank simulator). BF, Soldner and WW2O has moct of the stuff. But I
want the quality of IL2 and HnD in it. i don't care really for sea battles but it's a nice addition of a battlefield. Like you are the destroyer in front of a coast
and I'm a soldier in a cannon fortress. I want the destroyyer like in...Destroyer Command. it's about the details that games like BF and it's kind fails.

Oh yeah, did I mentioned that WW2O sux?

That would be cool. And I suppose you'd want the ability to design your character, say like an old guy in a wheelchair like the one in your sig?? Id wanna see that showdown at high noon!

But yea, WW2O did suck! Id like to see it done properly tho too. If it was as high quality as IL2 and HnD etc and if each team of players had proper timed objectives specific to them (like timing an air-ground bombing raid with a ground assault), that would be awesome gaming!

Mostly, as AI is becoming more advanced, Id just like to see more human-like behaviour in SP games, such as the death/injury sequences (holding their arm in pain like in Metal Gear), enemies hiding out of fear (like the little alien things in halo!) and some of the sequences in the Killzone vid (the bit where the Helghast gets knocked off the bridge but grabs on to stop himself falling) etc. where theres a combination of physics and AI at the same time.

I would like opt it like with the plane you can take out tanks and massive amount of soldiers before you get shot down...if at all.
So it would be cool to have a History mode. There you have...lets say storm the Normandy. You get only that many tankers and destroyers and loadouts.
A certain amount of planes and soldiers that have a respawn timing...like back up. So it's not like you can come on with tanks non stop or you got only 2
tanks and a plane drops a bomb and both are gone. it should be balanced. Also should the cannon fortsesses be manned by multible people in order to
operate it. not such kiddie stuff where one guy coordinates, moves the cannon, load it and fire. It should be kept so you need a groub of doing so or if
there is not enought people you have to go theu the precedures so it takes longer for the next shot. Sinse it's much harder and needs more player for
operation a gun flak to down a plane i think it's pretty ok to have set numbers for vehicles but soldiers unlimited on a timer. Or just have all products on
a timer so that 20 Soldiers = 2 Tanks or other vehicle = 1 plane. But maybe the idea is to 1337 for most gamers and such an elite pro gamer like me
have to wait till some of you get a fraction of my skills before they release such a game.
