Hadn't heard anything about this game, but that interview has my interest. Looks like it might be a fun game.
Any idea if they plan on this being full priced, or (hopefully) a budget title?

Heya Bucky, the game is out 'somewhat' out - since you can purchase it over the net directly from Introversion Software's website. Not only that, but you can even download the developers' a demo for it right now!
Now, Strategy First's North American boxed copy of the game will be shipped in mid-end of February, I think the price they were shooting for was between $20 to $30. The one thing that I still want to see tho, is how much will it be different from the original version. Strat First DID promise some new goodies in there.

Uplink has been out for a year +.
The Strategy First version will be different from the one available from introversion.co.uk right now.
All in all it's a really fun game, if I remember rightly.

I used to play a lot of Uplink when it was first released. You can really do a lot of things that really would've been fun to do in real life, even though the gameplay got a bit boring after a while. I'm looking forward to see what they've added though.. This is definitely a game worth checking out if you don't mind the 2d graphics.

From the looks of the screenies and the article, it looks to me like SF is going for a storyline. You know, hacker saving the world from something evil.
First thing I thought of was that bust game that EA brought out a while back. Can't remember the name, but it was online, and you had to chase through the net looking for clues to help some game devs get away from the shadow government.
Been playing that uplink demo, and it is kinda fun. Nice change of pace from all of the graphicy mindless games out.

Lol, to be honest I'm not really that surprised it flopped. Who'd wanna pay to be hassled over the phone by some freaky computer? It's not exactly something you can pick up and put down when you want either. I'd be paranoid of missing vital phone calls from the game and screwing the whole thing up.
Nokia Game was bad enough.

Nah.. I played the beta and it wasn't like that at all. You could tell it when it was ok to call you, or if it could call at all.
You couldn't miss out on anything cause it was event driven. The plot didn't advance unless you responded to the fax/email/phone call.
Biggest problem was that it was just dumb. The plot sucked and you would get access to the next episode about every 3 weeks. I was able to solve each episode in about 1 hour.
Who wants to pay a monthly subscription of $10 for an hour of gameplay?
