Here is a little bit about League of Legends from Wikipedia "The idea of a spiritual successor to Defense of the Ancients that would be its own stand-alone game with its own engine, rather than another Mod of Warcraft III began to materialize at the end of 2005. League of Legends was born when a couple of very active DotA community members believed that the gameplay was so much fun and so innovative that it represented the spawning of a new genre and deserved to be its own professional game with significantly enhanced features and around-game services."

MMOs have always been a staple for me. In mid 90's I got my first taste of massively multiplayer online games through a MUD called Medievia which is basically a telnet-based multiplayer interactive RPG. I logged a ton of time on that game going on trade route missions, tackling dungeons, and my favorite, PvP. Through college I took some time off it and played a bunch of Counterstrike and then returned to the MMO scene with the release of the original World of Warcraft in 2004. Horde ftw, I created a Tauren Shaman and my wife made an Undead Priest so we levelled up together and joined the same guild, Dark Hand of Chaos, which we are still in to this day 5 years later. The thing that keeps us interested is the comradery between guildmates and the fact that we are the dominant horde raiding guild on our server. The fact that Blizzard has managed to maintain our interest for so long speaks volumes about their committment to players to always be innovative and give the players what they want. Throughout the years I've tried some other MMORPGs with LoTR online, Warhammer online, and Everquest II but they never had the same draw as WoW so I always kept coming back for more. Besides RPGs, Real Time Strategy games keep me busy in the off-WoW time, from all the Warcraft series, Starcraft, Demigod, and Warhammer 40k Dawn of War I never have much down time =)
