i got 2 sticks of 256 in the 2 blue slots on my desktop pc with dual channel ram technology
today i bought another stick of 256 and put it in the 3rd black slot. the fourth black slot is still empty. it won't "pick up" the new stick. it continues to say 512 ram total. WHY?? |

That's wierd! But it can be damaged so it cant find it or sometimes you need to but a metal thing in the 4:th slot to make sure that the power goes around but I don't know if that is only for RD-Ram

hmm weird, read your motherboard manual, it might say someting bout the memory being in the slots, if you add another 256 it will take off dual channel , but it will still have 400mhz speed on the ram.
