Honest to god truth, Ive only heard people complain about games not working because of their AMD Processor. My friend bought a computer that had identical specs except different mobo and AMD processor, and two of his games dont work properly (ms flight sim, x plane) because of it. I have never had any problems with Intel and I continue to blame AMD for games not working if everything else is right. That doesnt mean AMD's arent any good, but I really havent seen any AMD perform in person faster than an intel.

[3izzarre dons flame suite=protection from A64 bummers]
Im seriously fed up with AMD64,lately it was BF2 now its FEAR the performance sucks....big time! I've toddled my processor in the direction of my old 3500+--->ebay as of last night! Why is it everywhere you look peeps are told to stay clear from P4? True i can't find a single game benchmark were P4 comes close to amd64 hence i've only ever owned AMD. (2600,3200,64bit 3200,3500,and present 4000+ you'd think i'd learnt by now?) My cousin has a P4 3.2GHz prescott 1 gig and x800xt when gaming on his rig i can't help but envy it compared to mine. On paper my specs are better(AMD 4000+clawhammer,2 gig corsair twinx c2pt,10k raptor, asus a8n sli deluxe, his x850xtpe)admittidly my rig leaves his for dust in gaming benchmarks but i enjoy realtime gaming on his rig a lot more? So my GH friends im deserting to Pentium i've had enough of the unpredicability of A64 and i've owned enough to know if im making the right choice. Fook benchmarks when i sell my proc(next week)my final upgrade for a while will be Intel Pentium 4 660 3.6GHz Socket 775, 2MB,EM64T not sure what mobo yet i havn't a clue whats hot and whats not with 775 mobos,i need to do a lil research, your inputs welcome. I still can't help thinking if i buy a 4000+ san diego chip maybe i'll finally be happy with my A64 setup but reckon i've spent enough a64 chips+can't afford to be let down again...imho--->A64=overated. I guess its horses for courses and from next week my hourse is running Pentium. BTW Hope no A64 lovers try to flame me,remember i've spent ££££ on A64 i'm speaking from first hand experience,on the other hand i've spent zero on pentium,i've never owned one so can hardly be called a pentium fanboy.........can i :dennis: [ED]Forgot to mention what do you think?am i the only one who has issues with A64? Oh yeah...links to any decent 775 mobo's wouldn't go amiss,Cheers  |

just to let you know my p4 runs so damm hot it is overheating when idle (not kidding  ) my intel board fails to turn on my cpu fan when my computer is turned on i hate intel and i would be thankful for a processor which even came close to some sweet speeds i use to own a nice 1.6 athlon and baby it was stable  praps keep your A64 gear so then you can put it back when your intel gets the loggers  just some friendly advice :P

Well you know we live in troubled times with some awesome new technology. And new technology all ways brings new problems. Your friend has 32bit processor and maybe that’s why some games work better on his computer until more games start to support 64bit properly and let’s not forget “large on-die cache memory technology on AMD”
So I’m still going to buy AMD 4800+ and looking forward for the future… ![]()

talking from experiance ive tinkered and overclocked my system and sometimes if you have a volt on 1.8 instead of 1.7 it can make a whole differece in the system, try different settings in bios theres plenty of them.
